Martin Green is one of the best known lawyers in the St. Louis region, equally adept at trying cases and structuring business and securities transactions. He has tried hundreds of cases and has had several cases that have gone to the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Green has been recognized by his peers, who regularly retain him to represent them in their times of trouble and who have voted him such honors as the Distinguished Service Award of the St. Louis County Bar Association; by the courts and elected officials, with appointments by the Missouri Supreme Court and by the Governor to commissions relating to the improvement of the justice system and as a Supreme Court hearing examiner; and by the media, with profiles in numerous legal and general interest publications, and coverage of a multitude of his cases, both in print and on television.
One of the firm’s founding partners, Joe Jacobson focuses primarily on civil appeals and business disputes, but spends about a third of his time providing advice and negotiating, structuring, and documenting transactions. He is well-known in the appellate courts, having handled over 75 appeals. Joe has tried in excess of 60 cases, including both bench and jury trials. Joe turns wood and makes wooden furniture and is involved in photography. His non-legal work product can be seen in our offices and on this website’s homepage.
For more than a decade, Jonathan Andres has been deeply involved in Green Jacobson’s class action practice. Remarkably, and perhaps uniquely, his class action practice is equally balanced between representing plaintiffs and defendants. Jonathan also handles more traditional commercial and business lawsuits for a wide range of the firm’s clients, including handling the majority of litigation for the largest privately-owned automobile tire, battery, and accessory chain in the Midwest.
Allen Press graduated from the University of Missouri — Columbia School of Law in 1991. He joined Green Jacobson in 1999. Allen was made a shareholder two years later after he successfully first-chaired a construction case that had nearly $30 million at issue and took three weeks to try. Allen has successfully handled a wide variety of commercial disputes, including franchise disputes on behalf of car dealers, construction claims on behalf of contractors and owners, breach of contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty claims, and securities arbitrations on behalf of investors.
Fernando Bermudez clerked for two different judges of the Missouri Supreme Court after graduating from law school and then authored over 100 appellate briefs, and argued dozens of appeals, in a two-year stint as a Missouri Assistant Attorney General. Although Fernando has kept active in appellate work since moving to private practice, he has also developed an active trial practice and has developed novel areas of expertise, including expertise in qui tam litigation, where a private individual brings a lawsuit on behalf of the government.
In his 35-year career, Greg Christoffel has advised business leaders of all kinds, from the CEOs of major telecom companies to founders of startups, in all aspects of corporate, securities, and commercial transaction matters. His legal expertise is combined with extensive senior executive management experience in telecom, high tech, and venture capital fund management. A variety of community organizations have benefited from his service on nonprofit boards and participation in mentoring and entrepreneur education programs.
Tim Lemen joined Green Jacobson after several years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County. He is an experienced trial attorney, having successfully tried numerous criminal and civil cases. He presently represents one of the nation’s largest banks in multiple lawsuits in Missouri and Illinois.
Nate Ross enjoys a general trial practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases. He brings a practical approach to client counseling, helping upset clients move past the emotional impact of a dispute to seek the most beneficial outcome at the lowest cost.
Scott Rose’s primary practice areas are class action and other complex litigation, commercial litigation, and employment law. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2000, completed a two-year clerkship for a federal district court judge immediately after law school, and has been in private practice since 2002.
Phil Boyd has litigated a diverse range of cases from employment matters to complex litigation and patent infringement. He has worked in both the public and private sector, and has also served as a Marine, including serving with the 2nd Marine Division in Desert Storm.
Brad Schneider is an associate at Green Jacobson. Brad is distinguished for being the only attorney at Green Jacobson hired by the firm directly out of law school. Brad focuses his practice on appellate advocacy and complex contract litigation.
Petya Beltcheva focuses her practice on commercial litigation, class actions, and family law. Petya also counsels individuals and businesses regarding business formation and planning.
